MUSIC / HEALTH / FITNESS / FASHION / BEAUTY

It's Laila K from Sonic Boom Six! Follow my adventures as I document my life in the band and on the road. I will also be sharing all things musical (interviews with bands, reviews of gigs and festivals), health (innovative clean recipes), fitness (my road to getting abs and a booty), beauty (reviews and tips) and fashion related tings as well as all the fun things I get up to!

ALL ABOUT LAILA K

I'm Laila K from the band Sonic Boom Six.

I wanted to start a blog that would cover all the things that I love such as music, health, fashion and fitness, as well as keeping a diary of what I get up to - be it teaching confidence workshops to teenagers in Hull, doing a photo shoot, to rocking a festival in Germany or playing an acoustic gig in a record shop.

Being in a band means I'm always on the move and I'm lucky enough to always be doing exciting things – playing festivals and gigs all over the world so I'm going to bring you all the backstage shenanigans as I see them!

I'm also on a mission to be as healthy, fit and as badass as I can be, which means I'm always devising new ways and recipes to eat clean and keep my body in tip top condition. I'll be experimenting in the kitchen and sharing the end results with you!

I'm not a massive girly girl but as time has gone on, I've learnt to look after my skin and I'm always on the look out for anything that that will make my skin glow and get rid of any zits that have a nasty way of appearing on my face right before a big night out or important gig!

For years, I've struggled with my body image and most of my adult life I've spent in a state of avoiding food often to the point of starvation to stay slim. It's something I seem to have slightly under control now by eating well and exercising but it's something I have never openly discussed or felt ready to discuss. I was stuck in the starvation/binge cycle for a long time and I'm hoping that doing this blog will help me face some of them demons and help others that maybe in a similar situation.

I will also share some of my fashion tips. I'm a serial bargain hunter so when I find something, you'll be the first to know about it! I tend to mix up High Street - Topshop, H&M, Footlocker, New Look - with one off pieces and I customise where I can to stand out from the crowd and I'm all about the accessories, baby. The more bling (fake) the better! I've never been a believer in sticking to one style. I grew up a metal kid, so my style was always off the wall. Now I've got a bit older, I still cling on to aspects of alternative fashion but now it's mixed with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I've never believed in 'one style'. Mix it up and see what happens!
